3 Great Tourist Attractions In Tennessee

There are many things to do and see in Tennessee. If you’ve never been there, then make sure you go soon. When you arrive, visit these three great attractions.

1. Visit Graceland- No trip to Tennessee would be complete without a visit to Graceland, the former home of Elvis Presley. Not only is it where Elvis lived, but it is his final resting place, which is one of the reasons it is a top attraction in the state. In fact, the mansion is in the National Registry of Historic Places. If you’re a fan of Elvis or you have always wanted to see Graceland in person, then make sure to take a trip to Tennessee.

2. National Civil Rights Museum- This museum is actually made up of a number of museums and historic buildings, and it’s located in Memphis. While there, you’ll be able to see artifacts that are associated with the civil rights movement in the United States, and many of the exhibits are interactive and feature multi-media. Make sure you go to the Lorraine Motel, which is the museum’s centerpiece and it’s where Martin Luther King Jr was assassinated.

Expect to spend around two hours at the museum. You will learn a lot about the civil rights movement. You’ll also be memorized by the buildings you come across.

3. The Tennessee Aquarium- The aquarium is located in Chattanooga and two buildings make it up. River Journey is the first building and it is over 100,000 square feet. When it first opened up, it was the world’s largest freshwater aquarium.

Ocean Journey is the second building and it is the newer building. It is home to many sea creatures. Also, while at the aquarium, you can take a tour of the Tennessee River because the aquarium offers off-site boat tours, and there’s an IMAX 3D theater you can go to. If you plan on watching a movie while at the Tennessee Aquarium, then make sure you give yourself plenty of time because you’ll want to explore as much of the aquarium as you can before or after you watch the film.

The Tennessee Aquarium and the National Civil Rights Museum are two of the top attractions in the state of Tennessee. So is Graceland, but there are many other things to do and see in the state. Just make sure you visit those three places on your next trip to the state.
