The concept of making wines that reflect their sense of place is a very important one to us at Turner's Crossing, and this is why we have recently teamed up with our winemaker, Sergion Carlei of Carlei Estate and Tony Hancey of Prancing Horse Estate to give our customers a unique and rare opportunity.
The Sense of Place wine club enables our friends to gain access to a mixed six-pack of rare wines from the three brands -Turner’s Crossing, Prancing Horse Estate and Carlei Estate- via a periodical purchase each quarter. Over the year, members will receive four packs showcasing the best regions in Victoria in the form of single vineyard wines hand-crafted by Sergio Carlei.
This is a great way to gain access to a wide range of quality wines with a considerable discount off the recommended retail prices and a wide range of other member benefits. Membership is ongoing but you can opt out at any time and it need not prevent you from making separate purchases of Turner’s Crossing wines through the website.

Wine Club
Carlei Wines, Turners Crossing and Prancing Horse Estate are very different and unique wineries; from different regions within Victoria, their vineyards are on different terroirs, the varieties in their portfolios are selected to suit the specific soil and climate of their regions, the wineries are owned by different people, but they all share two common and exceptional components. The first being they are all 5 star wineries and the second and undoubtedly the main reason James Halliday rates them so highly, is ‘the golden touch’ of winemaker for all three wineries, Sergio Carlei.
Sergio Carlei: Winemaker
Sergio defines his ‘golden touch’ by stating that, “It’s all about making real wines, wines that can be defined as terroir wines. Wines that are the end product of growing vines of a specific variety, in a specific region, in a specific soil in a specific climate and all grown naturally with the role of the winemaker being to express these terroir components with minimal intervention using old world tradition and new world technology”.
Sergio has carried his winemaking philosophy throughout the three wineries, hence, producing exceptional quality wines that are full of passion, soul, heart and family. Sergio’s relentless passion furthermore has been instilled by all of the owners of the three brands. It is for this reason that they want to share with their loyal customers the benefits associated with joining the Sense of Place Wine Club and appreciate what wine writer, Ralph Kyte Powell describes as wines that are produced by one of ‘Victoria’s most exciting winemaking talents’.
